To be a DJ on any of our stations, you will be expected to provide some degree of content based on the station's target audience. This content is not specified, but should include discussion topics, events and event promotion, news and competitions with direct relevence to the station.
For example, EVE Radio DJs should broadcast content specifically tuned to EVE Online topics. Booty Island Radio DJs should broadcast content specifically tuned to Pirates of the Burning Sea topics. Total Gaming Radio DJs have a lot more leeway in this, but the content should be related to gaming in general.
If you take a slot we expect a comittment from you to be available every week for that slot, please don't apply for a slot if you are likely to to be unavailable on a regular basis.
We also expect a respectable level of quality from you, this include having correctly tagged and good quality songs.
It also includes a microphone which is clear and undistored, at lot of time is often spent during the testing process trying to sort this so please check this before applying.
(Please note that we are aware of issues with various suppliers streaming software running on Windows Vista. Please confirm if you intend to run on Windows Vista, that your supplier has certified the software to run on that platform)
How to apply
- Check the schedule for the station you are interested in to see if any current 'Available' slots suit your real life commitments as this will be your slot every week.
(Please note slots flagged jukebox are already assigned for recruits being tested or staff on leave)
- Click on the "Apply Now!" button below.
Completing your application
When filling out your application - please note that the quality of the information you provide will dictate if we decide to pursue it further. An application that just says ' I am 1337 player and want to DJ ' will be immediately deleted, as will any which are too difficult to interpret due to bad spelling or incomplete information.
Applicants are tested in order of application arrival, successful applications will receive a reply from the Recruitment Team, Please state your preferred AVAILABLE time slot first, followed by your other choices in order of preference. If you do not receive a reply email within 2 weeks, please assume on this occasion your application has been unsuccessful (due to the sheer volume of applications received at the Gaming Radio Network, it is not possible to reply to every application).
Set-up:
You will be given all the instructions needed to set software up and then you will be allocated a test day, in which we will check your sound levels etc. You will then be free to broadcast in your slot and do cover (after a short probationary period) for DJ's you may wish to do.
NOTE: it is advised you practice with whichever streaming software you intend to use and familiarise yourself with common tasks such as changing track & using the microphone. You can do this without being connected to any server. You will be required to perform a minimum 20-30 minute show for your test stream. The test session including help with 'tuning' your setup could take up to 3 hrs. Having a working knowledge of the broadcasting software is preferable.
